Puget Sound, Pacific Northwest
About the Artist
An artist from a young age, my creative journey has always been defined by a love for organic beauty and meticulous craftsmanship. Based in the Puget Sound region of the Pacific Northwest, I draw endless inspiration from the lush interplay of native forests and the sea, as well as my travels throughout Eastern Europe and the UK.
Before turning my focus to watercolor, oil painting, and artisanal papercraft, I was the founder and designer behind Juliet M—a highly successful fine jewelry brand. Today, the same exacting attention to detail and romantic aesthetic that defined those heirloom pieces breathes life into my fine art.
Beyond my artistic endeavors, I'm driven by a deep sense of purpose. As a survivor and former domestic violence shelter advocate, I've woven philanthropy into my career from the very beginning, ensuring that my creative successes always help foster safety, wellness, and healing for others.
Whether I'm capturing the ephemeral beauty of spring peonies in watercolor, layering vintage ephemera into handmade journals, or exploring quiet moments in oil paint, my work celebrates the beauty found in slow, intentional making.
From Metal to Canvas
The meticulous attention to detail, spatial awareness, and appreciation for delicate beauty that made my jewelry work successful translate flawlessly into fine art. Whether collaborating with master jewelers to forge heirlooms or hand-crafting intricate papercraft and mixing oil paints today, my work is defined by a profound respect for tactile, high-quality craftsmanship.
The Practice
Watercolor
My watercolor practice focuses on botanical subjects painted from life. I'm drawn to the luminous quality of the medium and the way it captures the ephemeral nature of flowers and plants.
Oil Painting
Oil studies allow me to explore light, color, and the quiet moments of daily life. I work primarily in smaller formats, often alla prima, capturing scenes from my studio and surroundings.
Paper Craft
My handmade books and journals combine my love of vintage ephemera, botanical imagery, and the meditative craft of bookbinding. Each one is unique, designed to inspire.
Commissions
I regularly accept commissions for custom watercolor pieces and handmade books. If you have a special project in mind, I'd love to hear about it.
A Champion for Survivors
My story is one of resilience and empathy. As a survivor of domestic violence, I spent my early career working directly as a DV shelter advocate. This background has always been the heartbeat of my professional life—during my time running Juliet M, I dedicated 10% of profits to direct services for survivors. My art is created by someone with a deep commitment to healing and helping others.
The Juliet M Chapter
Before dedicating myself to fine art, I founded and ran Juliet M Jewelry—a celebrated fine jewelry brand known for whimsical, feminine heirlooms. Featured in Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Women's Wear Daily, the brand combined my love for organic forms with a mission to support survivors of domestic violence.
